Mrs. Cheri Thompson

Welcome to Third Grade!

Problem-solving and critical thinking are at the heart of my classroom. I foster these skills through computer programming, STEAM activities, and Genius Hour., where students are encouraged to explore their interests, ask questions, and think creatively. I am also a proud member of the Arizona Association for the Gifted and Talented.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family exploring the incredible outdoor adventures Arizona has to offer. My husband and I recently celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary, and we're grateful for the many memories we've made together. You can almost always find me with a book in hand. I especially enjoy collecting antique books and am always on the lookout for a hidden treasure. Sharing my love of reading with students and helping them become lifelong readers is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching. When I'm not searching for my next great book, I'm spending time with Ashby, my Yorkie, and Winston, my cat.

My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student feels confident, challenged, and inspired to grow. I strive to help students become critical thinkers, effective problem-solvers, and enthusiastic lifelong learners. As the saying goes, "Education is a journey, not a destination."
