Mrs. Debbie Ryan
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year. This will be my 31st year of teaching in the Deer Valley School District and the past 11 years at Legend Springs. During this time I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd and 6th grade. I am delighted to be teaching STEM this year. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from ASU and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from NAU.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, this February we will celebrate 30 years of marriage. We have a son (Chase 26) who is a manager at Living Spaces. Our daughter (Alyssa 24), graduated from ASU and works at a Recovery Center.
We like to go camping. I enjoy reading and paddle boarding. My favorite pastime is baking. It is a great way to share the love with friends and family. My favorites are Starbucks, Amazon and ALL food!
I love teaching and can't wait to share all the cool STEM activities planned for this year. STEM is a place to EXPLORE and ask the question WHY and WHAT IF! We learn perseverance and problem solving. I believe learning is an ongoing process and we learn more from making mistakes. All I ever ask from my students is to TRY!
Our Legend Springs STEM room is a learning environment that is embraces the development of a students skills in collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity. Students will apply their skills through collaborative, hands on projects that teach them to solve real-world problems and discover new ways to solve others.
Students will have equitable access to various types of computer science hardware and digital tools to support their learning and skill development, as well as an array of materials to engineer what they imagine!
