Mrs. Debbie Ryan

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. This will be my 30th year of teaching in the Deer Valley School District and the past 10 years at Legend Springs.  During this time I have taught  Kindergarten, 3rd and 6th grade.  I am delighted to be teaching to 6th grade Math, this is where I began my teaching career.   I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from ASU and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from NAU.  I am very excited to be teaching 6th grade Social Studies this year. 

More About Mrs. Ryan

Family:  I am married to my high school sweetheart, this February we will celebrate 29 years of marriage.  We have a son (Chase 25) and is a manager at Living Spaces.  Our daughter (Alyssia 23) and graduted from ASU and works at a Recover Center.

Hobbies:  We like to go camping.  I enjoy reading and paddle boarding.  My favorite past time is baking.   It is a great way to share the love with friends and family.

Philosophy: I love teaching!  and I can’t wait to share my enthusiasm and love for learning with you !  I have wanted to be a teacher since I was 5 years old.  My parents tell stories about how I made my siblings sit down every day and I would be their teacher. If my brother and sister would not sit down for their lessons :)  I would line up my stuff animals and dolls.  I believe teaching is an ongoing process and we learn more from making mistakes.  All I ever ask from my students is to TRY!
