The Reading Specialists provide reading interventions for at risk students in K-3.   The focus of these lessons is primarily  phonemic awareness & phonics. 

After many years of research and teaching, we have embraced the Science of Reading.  This method of using scientifically validated techniques is a crucial factor that ensures the majority of children will learn to read proficiently.  A key component of scientifically based literacy is direct instruction in phonological awareness and systematic phonics. We use an explicit, systematic, multisensory approach.
