Mrs. Nichole Basl

Mrs. Basl is a proud leader and learner in DVUSD. She has a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Principal Certification, and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She has been serving in the education community for over 20 years.  Mrs. Basl has worked with both low-income and affluent populations, teaching students grades K-8. She was also a Math and ELA Instructional Coach, as well as a TAP Master Teacher, providing professional development, curriculum development, and collaborative coaching for staff of all levels. Mrs. Basl led as Assistant Principal at a K-8 STEM Academy for 4 years prior to her years serving as Principal of our PreK-6 A+ School of Excellence. 

In her current role as PreK-6th Grade Principal, Mrs. Basl has partnered with STEM Education communities of practice, ISTE, Google for Education, and many more tech-centered programs. She also has extensive training in Social and Academic Behavior work, with a goal of providing innovative learning opportunities through a whole-child approach for all students. She is active in leadership roles at the campus and district level, striving to positively impact students and leaders across our system. She values continued education and strong leadership, knowing the powerful influence each person has on our current and future generations.

Mrs. Basl also values her family as a wife and mom of two children attending DVUSD schools. She loves learning through the eyes of her children, and appreciates the time she can take to celebrate their schooling, sports, and personal milestones.  When she is not working at school, Mrs. Basl maximizes time with her family- including hiking, exploring National Parks, attending gymnastics and jiujitsu events for her daughter and son, swimming, reading, playing cards and board games, and always making memories.
